Last year, I told my husband he was nuts for wanting to buy a trampoline. Our boys are quite young, and that concerned me. Once the trampoline came, however, I realized he was right. The boys were crazy about it.
Then, they convinced me to get on it as well. Here I was, an over 35 year old out of shape Mother, jumping on a trampoline for the first time in my life. There were times when I thought I had lost my mind completely, but seeing how much fun my sons were having jumping with me pushed all negative thoughts away. Never mind that this was supposed to be my children's trampoline- it was now a family trampoline!
Every day it seemed as if we were staying on the trampoline for longer periods of time. I soon discovered that my health was improving and that my jeans were not as tight. I had been physically active my whole life, and it was rather depressing to see my muscle tone fade over the years. Those initial few pounds lost gave me quite a thrill!
Every day, we spent a little longer on the trampoline, until we were up to over an hour. It really was a lot of fun! The boys would get a good workout that would wind them down some, and they were getting stronger and healthier in the process as well.
The benefits for me have been tremendous. My legs, as I mentioned above, are now strong and solid again, allowing me to return to my chosen profession working with horses. My core muscles became tight, and the baby fat slowly melted away. I have more endurance for chasing my sons around the yard. My clothes all fit better in fact I had to go shopping and buy a new wardrobe!
My sister found it quite amusing that I had begun exercising so much on the trampoline we supposedly bought for the children. She has never tried it, though, so she canat possibly know how much fun it is. I have told her that until she tries it, she shouldnat make fun of me.
We have not put a lot of wear and tear on our trampoline, but I think itas about time to get a new one. The boys are getting bigger, so a larger one would be a good idea. They even have rectangular ones that have a lot more room in which to practice doing flips and other stunts. That sounds even better!
If you think youare too old for jumping on a trampoline for the first time, think again. I would highly recommend it to anyone. You can have fun and get fit at the same time, and itas a wonderful way to relieve stress as well. Itas also a fabulous cardio workout and does a great job of building your muscles. Take my advice and get your family one today! - 16083
