Is there really such thing as a hardgainer?

By Jon Cardozo

Many people begin a muscle building program only to end up confronting a number of obstacles. When this happens, it's easy to believe that there's no way to improve your situation. You may even call yourself a hardgainer, or your friends may have done it for you. Is this really a legitimate excuse?

Listen, people have been arguing about the role of genetics for a long time, and scientists are still trying to figure it out. I think it's safe to say, however, that your genes are not the whole story. Even if you're at a disadvantage, you can still make a for it if you have a mind to.

It may be true that some individuals were born with a genetic advantage in certain areas. Certainly some individuals possess greater intelligence than others, and it seems fairly obvious that some trainees have a strong tendency to gain muscle with less effort. Is this sufficient reason to throw in the towel? I don't think so.

You may have to accept the reality that gaining muscle is not going to be a walk in the park for you, and you probably need to forget about those guys that seem to make progress almost effortlessly.

When you take something on, you shouldn't just think about how difficult it will be. You must look past the circumstances and obstacles and see what you'll gain if you succeed. Only then can you really determine if something is worth it or not.

When it comes to building muscle, your attitude is just as important as ever. Your results in the gym begin with a positive mental attitude and continue with a solid work ethic and commitment. If you don't have a positive mental attitude, you will only be able to see the obstacles and not the opportunities.

The truth is that virtually every obstacle can be overcome, and every mountain can be climbed. When you have that perspective, you can kiss the term hardgainer goodbye.

Then get yourself in a comprehensive muscle building program designed to build massive gains as quickly and naturally as possible. - 16083
