Body Acne

By Jimmy Johnson

Body acne appears all over the body, but mostly targets the chest, back and shoulder areas. Unfortunately there is no one cause for acne or body acne, and it can be an annoying, and sometimes painful experience.

Body acne prevents a person from enjoying life to its fullest. They will generally be too embarrassed by their body acne to wear swimwear or anything else that may show the areas of their bodies where their breakouts are. Imagine going though life having to cover up all the time because you don't want anyone to see that you have acne on parts of your body.

There are many products out today that are specifically targeted for acne-prone skin, so finding a regime that works for you shouldn't be too difficult. Most pharmacies offer a whole section on clear skin routines and you can always ask a pharmacy consultant in the beauty section to help you choose the best products for your skin.

Most acne products include a compound called benzoyl peroxide. This strong substance dries out the skin as well as any pimples. It needs to be used carefully so as to not over-irritate the skin, and should be kept away from fabric as it will cause colors to fad.

Finding the cause of the breakouts would be very helpful, but no one really knows what actually causes pimples. There are a number of theories, but none have been proved beyond a doubt. Some body acne can be made worse by an irritant. Watch to see where you tend to break out and you may find that there is an external source for the pimples. Some fabrics can wreak havoc on the skin. Tight clothing can cause breakouts as well.

No matter what product you are using, treat your face and neck separate from the rest of your body, as the face and neck are much more sensitive and will react badly to harsh treatments. Try to find a gentle cleanser that contains only a small percentage of benzoyl peroxide. If it doesn't start to clear up the acne, then try something a bit stronger. - 16083
