How You Don't Choose Your Anti Aging Skin Care Products

By Peter Albertonach

The anti aging skin care products and cosmetics industries are huge businesses, turning over billions of dollars a year. There are lots of US women looking for solutions to looking younger and looking good, and plenty of big companies that take advantage of this.

But many mainstream anti aging skin care products just don't work. The cosmetics and skin care industry is quite unregulated in the US, and so the big cosmetics and skin care companies can put any product on the market without first proving that it works, and even without showing that it is safe for the people who use it.

So you can also find that there are many dangerous ingredients in anti aging and skin care products, and the products don't work very well.

But despite this they sell huge amounts of these products that advertise their ability to make you look younger. Everywhere you look you see products telling you they will make you younger and look great.

So, how do you navigate your way through all this to choose an anti aging skin care treatment that does work, and doesn't contain ingredients that you should be scared of?

Here's how not to choose a good anti aging product.

1. Don't buy any skin care products that include fragrances in them. Now of course everyone likes to smell good, and the cosmetics companies pander to that, by adding fragrances to their products. Apply the cream and smell good and look young all at the same time.

But there's 2 problems. Firstly the skin care cream you're buying probably won't do very much to make you look younger.

And second, fragrances are just chemicals and not really all that good for you. It's the same with perfumes, but you just dab a little perfume here and there, you don't apply it to a wide area like you do with, say, a moisturizer.

2. Resist buying anti-aging skin care products containing collagen. But surely everyone knows that as we age our skin loses collagen and so starts to sag and wrinkle and form lines, so we need to replace that collagen.

Well yes and no. We do need to replace the collagen, but collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the skin, so putting collagen in the bottle does nothing, other than making you feel good perhaps.

The best way to improve the collagen levels in your skin is to stimulate the body to produce more collagen itself.

So if putting the collagen in the bottle does nothing why is it in the bottle and why are those big name celebrities on TV telling you how well it works? Because they know there's lots of money to be made. That having collagen in the bottles sells lots of bottles.

Even if it doesn't do anything for you. Even if it's got suspect ingredients. It will sell.

That's marketing.

Problem is, all this marketing is expensive. The good looking celebrity has to be paid, usually lots, the fancy bottles need to be purchased, and the advertising costs a bomb.

So although that anti-aging product is really just making you smell better and not much else it sells big time because people assume that if it costs that much it has to be good.

And there's lots more things to avoid when choosing a good anti-aging skin care treatment. That's 2, for more visit my website.

So maybe you should just give up on anti-aging products because they don't work? No. There are excellent anti-aging products that work fine, are moderately priced and use ingredients known to be safe.

But they are produced by small niche companies that you've probably never heard of, who quietly produce high quality products at reasonable prices because they don't pay the good looking celebrities and spend up big on TV advertising. That's why you've never heard of them. If they started doing that their products would cost a bomb too.

So don't despair. I've given you some things to look for when buying an anti aging skin care product, and told you that there are excellent products available. Now it's your turn to find them. - 16083
